It is with great pleasure and heartfelt warmth that I welcome each one of you to the 35th Annual Conference of the Indian Psychiatric Society – Karnataka Chapter (KANCIPS 2025), to be held from 12th to 14th September 2025 in the serene and picturesque town of Chikkamagaluru.

KANCIPS has always stood as a platform to reflect, rethink, and reimagine the evolving frontiers of psychiatric practice, and this year’s theme, “Psychiatry Redefined: Novel Interventions,” could not be more timely. We are in an era where science, technology, and humanism must walk hand in hand, and this conference promises to be a confluence of ideas, innovation, and insightful dialogue.

On behalf of the Indian Psychiatric Society – Karnataka Chapter, I extend a warm and cordial invitation to all delegates—senior members, faculty, postgraduates, and mental health professionals—to join us in Chikkamagaluru. Let this conference be a celebration of learning, fellowship, and the shared vision of advancing mental health care.

Looking forward to seeing you amidst the hills with coffee.

Prof. Dr. Somashekhar Bijjal
President, Indian Psychiatric Society - Karnataka Chapter

This year’s theme, “Psychiatry Redefined: Novel Interventions,” sets the stage for thought-provoking sessions, fresh perspectives, and engaging discussions that reflect the rapidly evolving landscape of mental health care. The pre-conference day on 12th September has been thoughtfully planned with postgraduate students in mind, and we’re confident it will offer practical takeaways and inspiring interactions.

We encourage all delegates—faculty, practitioners, and students—to actively participate in the free scientific paper and poster presentations, and contribute to the academic vibrance of the conference.

Apart from the academic offerings, we invite you to savour Chikkamagaluru’s local delicacies, including traditional Malnad cuisine and its world-famous filter coffee. We also encourage you to explore nearby gems like Mullayanagiri, Hebbe Falls, Hirekolale Lake, Kemmangundi, and the historic temples of Belur and Halebeedu—each offering a slice of Karnataka’s heritage and natural beauty.

We are working hard to ensure that your time with us is meaningful, comfortable, and memorable in every way.

See you in Chikkamagaluru!
